what do you guys put on fliers i sounds like a good idea but I am having a hard time picturing it.

A catchy phrase like, "Looking for something unique?"
your shop name, the items you make, an email address, your website, perhaps a picture of what you make or your logo. You could also have little tear-off strips at the bottom of the flyer with your shop address on them. You could take the information you want on the flyer, and take to a copy shop- they could design and make the whole thing for you if you aren't into computers.

Would you include prices?  Sometimes when I flip through fashion magazines, if there's something I like but there's no price, I assume it's out of my price range (depending on the magazine).  Generally they put the prices for cute stuff if it's a good deal.  But is putting the price on a flier make it look "cheap"?

Where have people left fliers that they thought have worked?


Also do you think its unappropriate to put your etsy address in the signature for your buisness email (I teach college so sometimes my students will get emails or other people in the department, oh and i"m only a lowly grad student so it would be boss types)

I made a t-shirt with my URL on it and wear it a lot... I include my biz cards in my bill payments... I wear my jewelry and hand out a biz card when someone compliments it... I've emailed everyone I know... I've joined a local artisans' group... I'm trying to get my work into an art-o-mat... and lots of other stuff I can't remember!

I do promo PACKS. I am also going to get stickers made. Ive also seen on etsy these "catalogs" being sold that you can customize and put your own items in. Im not big yet so idk about that idea.

I hand out business cards and write my url on the back of all my cards or if I send out a letter to a family memeber I also write down my url. Any adivce on what else to do?

You know those tent-like signs that sit on top of your car (like the ones pizza delivery stores use)?  Well, I've thought about it, but haven't done it yet.  They always catch my eye.  Very visible and shameless!

I have gotten a job at a local craft shop and I will be talking to my boss about having some promos packs available to give out for free.

This is good promotion towards my shop and others. I have put together about a hundred already for craft shows and for my sales(none yet btw) but I also thought promoting at a craft store would also help.

Does anyone think this would be a good idea?

Sarawearskirts... regarding craigslist.... I pick a city and then list a product with photo.  Then in the body of the ad, I tell readers that the advertised item and others like it are available on my website.  I don't list any other contact info. other than my web address.  Hope this helps...
