Hey Guys,
I've got my Leavers Ball/Prom in 17 days and i was hoping to make my own dress in between exams. I was just wondering if anyone had any idea how i would go about creating a gathered bodice. I tried finding a pic of what id like it like but failed, the booby bit is the bit that confuses me :S

Thanks
Katie  Cheesy

That dress has a gathered skirt, but the bodice isn't gathered - it's i think princess seamed.  If you go to a sewing store it should be pretty easy to find a similar pattern

I think I found the perfect pattern: McCall's #4366
Vogue #7877 View Dlooks a bit easier (and is just for the top)

i used the simplicity 5238 pattern (above on a previous post) for my grad a few weeks ago, and made the greyish/black polka dot dress, but in pink with white polka dots instead... and it has a gathered bodice. it was pretty easy to do, and the instructions are easy to follow. it looks great when it's done... so if you wanna make a dress quickly i suggest using this one.
