This is my first posting, yay. I always used my little sister's account when using Craftster but decided to join on my own. Anyways, I practically live at my boyfriend's house now and we decided to redecorate his room. Okay...I decided. He really likes Koi Fish (he has a tattoo of one on his arm) so we decided to paint a scenery of a pond with Koi along with Lotus Flowers on one of his walls. It's all freehanded. We decided to decorate the rest of the room with an Oriental/Red & Black Theme. It's not the greatest paint job (we got lazy and tired) but we're proud of the outcome. Hope you enjoy it!

This is a picture of the whole wall, ignore the furniture covering it.

And another. All of the fish are different!

Wow!  Did you find painting over the black difficult?

Thanks! The background is actually a dark navy blue. Surprisingly, the fish and flowers only took two coats!

Did you mix gesso with acrylic? That seems to work well.
