Sigh if I could dress like Inara every day of my life, I'd be a satisfied woman.  Beautiful work.

"Don't look at me with that tone of voice."

"Ah, the pitter patter of tiny feet in huge combat boots. (pause) Shut up!"

I made a bag using that fabric last year!

Your shirt is gorgeous too, I never would have thought to use that fabric on a top!  I've still got lots of it left... might just try something Smiley

AimeeIsobel-- your bag is gorgeous! And I never would have thought of it either, until I started watching Firefly.

I finally had a chance to dig back through my patterns, and I found which one I used as my starting point. It was McCall's 2401, the long-sleeved V-neck dress on there. I shortened it (obviously) and flared the sleeves. The most difficult alteration was making the empire waist (especially to fit my chest  Tongue ), I ended up having to do more of a curved than a straight one  (like __^__  but with more curves to it.)

I'm seriously thinking I might need to go through my Firefly DVDs again and steal some more ideas from her wardrobe.

Another great idea! Inara does always have the best clothes. I have some black brocade that I might be able to use for a short-sleeve V-neck. Thanks for the inspiration!

Nice shirt, I've always wanted to do some of Inara's clothes
