Firefly-inspired shirt

Yes, I know, I'm a geek. I don't care. 

Anyway, I loved this shirt(http://still-flying.net/images/ourmrsreynolds/index.php?image=ourmrsreynolds332.jpg) so I made my own. But in green because pinkish is not my thing.

This is beautiful! I'm a big Firefly fan myself, and I just love so many of Inara's clothes. Did you use/base this off of a pattern? I would be very interested in knowing how you did it.

geschmackssache- Yes, I did base it off a pattern (generally, drafting patterns from scratch myself doesn't seem to work so well for me.) The pattern I used was actually for a dress (I'd have to look up the company/number) with a V-neck (I figured I'd have more trouble drafting the neckline than the empire waist, and I couldn't find a pattern with both that wasn't reeeeeally low-cut). So I had to add the empire waist and flare the sleeves and shorten the length. I'm glad I tried it on the cheap fabric first.


LetterGhost- no, I didn't know that! Wow, that stuff is gorgeous. Too bad I don't have a couple thousand dollars lying around to burn...
