This is my first attempt at a baby sized sweater and my first real "made it up" pattern.  The frog is based on Keroppi (cause I needed a super cute frog).  It's for a friend who is expecting (we don't know itf it'll be a boy or girl yet!)  Since there wasn't a ton of stitches to do the intarsia I had to do a little embroidery on top to make it detailed.  The yarn is Yarn Bee Icelandic Jewels (except the white which was yarn I had laying around that had long ago lost it's label.  I plan to make booties to go with it.  The buttons I have for the booties are adorable froggies with googly eyes!
Cheers!

This is an awesome baby sweater. I especially like the little heart on the back.

Of course!!!

Course, I'm big into gender-neutral baby items.  So that may just be me!

Love the sweater!

So cute!  And I totally knew it was Keroppi before I even read about it!  Also, is your "model" Kipper by any chance??  If so, very cool!   Cool

Love it! It's nice for babies to have short sleeved sweaters too! And I love the heart on the back too.

The sweater is actually long sleeve but I had to scrunch it up on Kipper's arms so it didn't look like he was swimming in it.  That Kipper has been through a lot with me.  Back in another life when I managed a PBS store, he was my backroom friend who soaked up my frustrated tears during Christmas season (retail toy stores at Christmas are a complete nightmare) and made me laugh through many other days.  The day I quit I bought him and took him home.  He's been my pal ever since:)  He even talks with a British accent!

I can completely feel your pain of working in toy retail around Christmas...I did that for 4 years?  Maybe it was 5...  But I know how it goes.  What a great choice of bonding with Kipper, he's such a calming fellow!  Haha   Cheesy

Your froggie projects are all very cute!  For the eyes on the hat, did you knit or crochet?  Or wait - are they pompoms?  And did you use felt for the pupils?

The eyeballs are pom-poms!  I made them in the usual pom pom way and tied them off, but before actually taking them off the paper disk, I strung black fabric covered buttons on the white yarn and knotted them in around the tie off loop.  Voila! Eyeballs!
The google around a bit, but I think that makes them a little more cute and muppet-y:)  This project really makes me giggle!  If anybody out there needs a quick cure for the grumps, may I recommend making a froggy hat! I can't wait to see it on a little head!
Cheers,

I hope you are not a shy person because EVERYONE at the baby shower is going to be all over you.  They are amazing.  Non traditional baby stuff is so hard to find and when you do it costs a fortune.  I love it and I am sure everyone else will too.

now that I've got that song in my head and hopefully yours and ev'rybody elses.
hey, Margarita. fancy stumblin' onto you in this part of the galaxy. The froggie hat rocks my world--but I want to see it modeled, por favor?

Crazy! Hi there, Lynzi! Kiss  I could post pics once I have a baby head to put that little hat upon.  It's for Baby Peacock, who isn't due until July. Cheesy  I don't know if I'll ever post jewelry here since it's my job-like thing and this is more like my play space...we'll see!  Maybe when I do something really new and funky.  I've been making some pretty fun enamel wall pieces, too!  I did finally put a link in my sig, so I guess that's something!
I best be off to stalk you by post!
 Grin
Big Froggy love!
