Here's my most recent FO.

I thought the vertical stripes created by short rows would be an interesting way to use self striping yarn.

Pattern:

Gauge 17 st and 24 rows equals 4 inches

Cast on 40 st
Row 1 and all odd rows: k to end
Row 2: p 39 wrap and turn (RS)
Row 4: p 38 wrap and turn
Row 6: p 37 wrap and turn
Row 8: p 36 wrap and turn
Row 10: p 35 wrap and turn
Row 12: p 34 wrap and turn
Row 14: p 33 wrap and turn
Row 16: p 32 wrap and turn
Row 18: p 31 wrap and turn
Row 20: p 30 wrap and turn
Row 22: p 29 wrap and turn
Row 24: p 28 wrap and turn
Row 26: p to end
Repeat rows 1 thru 26 4 more times bind off and seam, or use 3 needle bind off.
You should have 5 wedges.

Love the hat... the colours look great together!!  I have yet to try short rows... and I always seem to shy away from patterns that call for the use of them. Maybe one day I will stop being a chicken.

That is gorgeous. Beautiful execution and perfect yarn.

I love self striping yarn - would you mind sharing what brand it was?

The yarn is Noro Silk Garden, the lable is long gone so I can't tell you what colorway it is. I'll write up a pattern and post it latter today for those interested. Smiley

I used size 7 needles.  The hat took a little more than 1 ball of Noro Silk Garden
