Agh well I forgot to photograph the jacket before I cut it up, such was my enthusiasm to get started!!!
It was basically a blazer-shaped jacket which I bought on ebay a couple of years ago, but it came up two sizes too big. I'd been thinking whether or not to risk trying to resize it but in the end decided just to use the fabric for something else, because it's soooo pretty!
Anyway here is the result, made on my mum's ancient manual (you wind a handle with your hand to make it go!) singer sewing machine...

on my bed : looks a bit wonky in this pic but that's just part of the gusset sticking out on the left.

inside : I lined it with a cotton grocery bag, because that way the handles are already attached and also the grocery bag takes the weight of things inside it, instead of putting too much strain on the rose fabric, which isn't that thick. Also you can see the little pocket there...

on me : sorry for the weird wobbly mirror!!

Very beautiful!  well done, I love that you did it on a manual sewing machine.  I'll bet your arm is very pumped up.   Cheesy

..Well I was thinking of doing something else to it, not sure what as yet!! It was originally meant to have a flap and I was going to get a cool vintagey button to put on that, but it didn't work with the handles. I do have a sparkly brooch I could pin on, but that seems a little half-hearted. What do you reckon? ... Lx

I think the brooch would be nice...but I really have a problem with overaccesorizing...I am working on a purse that I am making for my cousin...and am having to ask myself am I putting too much on it...LOL

i'm glad you found a use for it in the end. it came out really nice... especially for being made on a manual machine!
