I made this gorgeous (well i think it's gorgeous anyway!) skirt from an old pair of levis. This is the second one I've made. I cut off the waist band, cut up the seams on the legs and sewed the back together and left the front open so it splits in to a V shape. I cut the bottom off the skirt so it was just above my knee and sewed it about 2cm up to stop it fraying too much. Because I took the waistband off the zipper came off, so I replaced it with a bright pink zip. Also the belt is to hide a couple of little holes where I removed the belt loops. I really love the belt, its a random bit of vintage (prolly 70s/80s) fabric I found lying around in a cupboard. The first one I made was very similar, but it didnt have a belt, and I also bleached it a bit and put silver studs across the top of one of the pockets. I like to wear them sideways so that I have one front pocket and one back pocket on the front, and the split up the side. Also im really chuffed cuz I've just washed the first one for the first time and I was convinced it was gonna fall apart! YEY!

i've done that before..

yours is a bit too long for my preferance, but it's cute nonetheless and i adore the pink belt! Smiley

Very cute. Did you use a sewing machine or by hand?
