Wow, that's really pretty.  Is the swirl on top from yarn or another wet felted rope?

Ruby Rouge, thanks so much for sharing! your sample is lovely.  Am anticipating more great things to come.

If you would, it would be great if you could share more about your class.  Where are you taking it?  Who is teaching it?  Is it part of a school curriculum or a community ed type class.  How did you find out about it?  So many of us would like to find classes and learn in a hands on manner- we are thirsty for info on such classes.  Thanks so much.

Lots of questions! Here are some answers for you...

I used a beautiful chunky yarn on top of the felt for the swirly design.

On Christmas day I spontaneously bought myself a course in creative textiles thinking I would be doing all manner of interesting things such as batik, felting, knitting, crochet, weaving but then on the first day of the course realized I had just applied for the second term which consists of ten weeks of felting!!! But I have to say I am thrilled because there is literally sooo much you can do with felt and I have a million different projects planned. I have a friend of a friend who breeds lamas who is going to give me some lama fleece to felt too!  Smiley

... and lastly the course is at the Mary Ward centre in holborn, London!

Very nice! I love using yarn in felted objects. You can either have it 3D-ish standing out or felt it right in. That's why I picked up spinning.

10 weeks of felting sounds amazing! You can never felt too much! Cheesy
Have fun and tell us about your experiences as you go along.
