HELP! Athens area...

I live in the Athens area, but I am having the hardest time trying to find a specific thing. I am making a messenger bag, and the straps are adjustable. So, I need a buckle slide. I'm not sure if that is the exact name for them, but that is what is on the pattern. I have looked at Joann's, Hobby Lobby, and two Wal-Marts. I also went to the thrift store looking for overalls, but I wasn't going to pay $9 to use one slide.

Do y'all have any other places to look, or somewhere where you have successfully found this item.

Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.

hm.  I assume you're talking about the thing that's like a rectangle with 2 slots in it?  I guess that the only place I can think of that you haven't tried is Hancock fabric, and I don't know if they would have such a thing!  Or Michaels, but they don't really have much sewing stuff any more.  good luck and if I come across one I'll let you know.

what  size  slider  do  you need>  and  does it have to be  metal  or   plastic?  I live  in athens a nd  have 2 small children  with a bunch of back packs  that I can swipe a slider from and mail to you.   if  its teh right size.

It's in the shopping center on the Atlanta highway that has Goody's and big lots in it!

I needed 1.5" metal. I found them on ebay under triglide buckles, not slide buckles. Thank you both so much!

have you ever tried potter's house on prince avenue in normal town?  they have really low prices on clothes (thrift store) and you could probably find materials there for cheap.

I didn't check there. I love potter's house. I should have checked there before buying them online.
