So the boyfriend and I are on a 'break'. Pretty much we both really need to focus on school at the moment. We still talk via email and he's still my best friend.
His birthday is coming up.
I really want to give him something special but is that too strange?
I was thinking of making a quilt because he just redid his room and his blanket is lame. Or a scrapbook of our 2 month trip to europe since he doesnt even have pictures of it and I think he should. + some chocolate dinosaurs because that is what I got him the first year we were dating.

I mean- am I totally out of line?

If you're taking a 'break', then go easy on the birthday present.  Maybe just stick to a copy of the photos in a nice photo box (no intensive scrapbooking but maybe decorate the box) or a card and the chocolate.

Really, the only person who knows is you and him as to whether that's too strange.  Just make sure you know it wouldn't be weird for him (did you initiate the "break", did he take it badly or was hurt, etc.) or weird for you or that you don't have ulterior motives.

I say a big no on the quilt.  A quilt is a large, labor intensive item, and even a craft-clueless guy will know this.  Given that you're on a break, that will be sending slews of mixed messages.  Save yourself the potential agony; don't do the quilt.

Making an effort to use proper English and not 'net slang makes me much more willing to respond to your post.

The things about the scrapbook is that it was supposed to be a christmas present.
I will definitaly hold off on the quilt. Because looking into it- it's a huge project (my grandma totally lied to me about how easy quilts are...)
Boys are so confusing. because I don't want to give him the wrong message. I just want to say - 'it is your birthday and that is a special day. Here is something for you.'
