This thread has made me soooo happy.

I have recently been getting into burlesque, and have been looking at purchasing a pair of pasties.  But being a crafter, buying a pair seemed so...sad.

I am sooo happy you made a tutorial!

I am gonna make a pair for a V-day/Burlesque convention present for my boyfriend, glee!

If you want to make unusual shaped pasties but don't know what shape to cut, curl some stiff paper into a pastie cone, hold it in place with a little piece of low-tack tape. Cut the pastie into the shape you want (lips, star, leaf, whatever) unpeel the tape and hey-presto, you have a paper template!

So I have been working on my first few pasties.

I have a bit of a tip/technique (sorry if this is posted somewhere else on this thread, I didnt look first) but....

If you find a fabric that you want to make a pastie out of (like a quilting fabric, or a pretty cotton fabric or whatever else), get a piece of felt and fuse it to the fabric with iron-on tape (I dont know what its called, but its like a hemming glue that you can iron on), and then you dont end up with a flimsey pastie.  It will have a nice soft backing and hold its pointy form.

I just found this out through trial and error, so, sorry if thats already common knowledge!

Now, my story begins in nineteen-dickety-two. We had to say "dickety" 'cause the Kaiser had stolen our word "twenty". I chased that rascal to get it back, but gave up after dickety-six miles
