I was inspired by jpilgrimd : http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=67859.0

Sooo...

Red canvas 'beach shoes' that I bought because of the stripey bits, but never wore...
+

Gorgeous but ill-fitting fairisle sweater

...

Instead of making tubes out of the body, I simply cut the arms off the sweater (and attacked the shoes too)

Then used uber-strong and uber-stinky glue to stick the sleeves over (what was left of) the shoes

The edge looked a little messy so I covered it with brown binding

I also reinforced the back with stitches

agus...ta-da!!

Thanks! I can't claim the original idea was mine, of course  Wink (see link at the top) but I just thought why not use the sleeves as they are, ready-made tubes. Also the end is already hemmed, so no sewing required! Smiley Lx
