Codpieces definitely aren't top on my list....but there's a lot I can overlook when it comes to David Bowie.  lol

Back on topic people... what was it again?  Cheesy Kidding!
Am I the only one who LOVED the Storyteller series?

I read books about Jungian psychology because of that show!
I own books of international fairy and folktales because of that show!

It expanded my mind and interests. It sparked my imagination.  Shocked

I also LOVED the Storyteller series.  It was Jim's last great contribution to the TV world.

codpeices, ussually dont care either way, but it just brings me to the questions
1. why is he wearing a codpiece in a jim henson movie?
2. why does he need a codpeice in the firstplace?

love David Bowie but the codpiece was a bit much - always thought it was male ego - looked up the history of it and yes - male ego <G>

Henry VIII understood succession problems, having only come to the throne because his older brother, Arthur, died young. Ever conscious of his image, the exaggerated codpiece told England, and the rest of Europe as well, that his equipment could not be at fault. His syphilis, however, likely affected his fertility. Henry VIII will always be known more for his six wives than for his codpiece (which often entered the room before he did), but such is the fickleness of fashion.

if someone ever asks me the question "do YOU know the history of the codpeice?"
i can say "yes i do!"
and that makes me feel good inside.
props to you goatgoddes!!!
