Actually, it's my first reconstruction project.  I took a pair of jeans that fitted but were unflattering (wide leg mens jeans, crotch hangs 2 inches below my crotch) and turned them into a skirt.

WDYT?

The front

The back

The jeans were black-red and I sewed the flounce with the fabric inside out to show off the red.
Just the links until I can get the pics up.

Not sure about a tute - unless I do another - but I can give you a quick run-through.

I actually cut the legs off the pants at the right length to be shorts but then as I was sizing DD up for a skirt in the leftover fabric I decided that I wanted a skirt in it, too.  So I cut the crotch seams, sewed a little triangle in the matching fabric front and back (looking back I should've just stitched the backs of the legs together).  Then I got the other leg piece and cut it and laid it flat then I folded in quarters and used the flounce part of my DD's dress pattern.  Sewed the flouce pieces together, zig-zaged 5mm from the bottom to stop the whole flounce from fraying, and stitched on in reverse so you can see the red of the fabric.  Will post tute if i make another and can take pics.

Nice work!
I like how the ruffles in the back dip down lower than the sides.
