By around town do you mean inner city or just around Chch in general?

Go to Sydenham for op-shops! It's such a short walk from town. Theres about four or five there .. I'm sure they've all been mentioned but I'll sum it up for you.
-Savemart on Battersea St
-Tasman Traders (I think it's like 43 or 42 Byron St - one of the first streets over the overbridge(away from town) and turn left into byron - it's the far end)) Almost everything there is $4.
-The $2 op-shop, opposite Battersea on Colombo(big green sign)
And theres a couple of Sallies and the smaller ones down colombo too.

In the actual city centre there's the little asian one on High St, right next to Java Cafe. It's a bit pricey but has good stuff. I'm sure theres a couple more down High but they're all a bit... old people.. if you get what I mean. Go down Manchester too cos theres plenty there. Can;t remember any names though.

Theres also a big one in the middle of town that you probably know about...It's on Hereford I think.. Or something parallel to that.

Hope thats a help - you can always check out the yellow pages - from memory it missed out heapsa second hand shops BUT it still mentions some. They're listed under Clothing - Second hand (seems obvious but took me a year to bloomin find the page.)

The $2 Warehouse is having a sale, everything's $1! It's amazingggg. I just got a Max cardigan, a jacket, a tshirt and a crazy neglige thing. They're relocating, but I'm not sure where to.

Oh, and guess where I work now?
None other than... WARREN AGENICIES! It's a wholesale/retail bead place in Addington, a billion times cheaper than any other shop. I get to spend my Saturday mornings being paid to fondle beads... it's so much fun. You guys should come visit me, I'm the one who looks far to young to have a job.

Warren Agencies -- used to shop there 15 years ago and it was amazing!  Do you have a website now?

Bealey Ave? Man, I don't even know where that is. Are there any buses that go there?
*sigh* It's not easy being 14.

Oh, and Warren Agencies doesn't have a website that I know of, but you should come visit and see! We just got lots of new beads!

Are there are cheap fabric places in town? Spotlight is so darn expensive...

Fabric Vision is in town - they have a HUUUGE table thats all $6 a metre. And the rest isnt thaaaat badly priced.

Apart from that, I don't know where ANY cheap fabric shops are.

And a question - wheres a place that sells cheap plastic boxes that are suitable for storing fabric. Plastic box is ridiculously priced.
