I crocheted a bikini top yesterday. I got the idea from this thread: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=59504.0. I didn't use a pattern at all, I just did what she said she did. "All I did was make the square for the top part of the triangle, then I went back and forth across 2 edges.  I measured myself from my nipple up to how far I wanted the top to go and that's how big I made the square, corner to opposite corner."

So anyway, here's what I came up with:

And here are some pictures of it on me:

You can see that it doesn't really fit very well. Not only is it way too small, but the nipples aren't in the right place, so the shape is off too.

Oh well, it's still pretty cool and I'm proud of it. lol

Very cute!!! I just made a purple top that I'll  post soon.  I think your top look fine just the way it is and it will probably fall into shape after it gets wet.  What did you make it out of?

Hey - that is so cool!  Your top looks so cute!  I'm happy that you found my simple instructions useful, hehe.

I think next time, I'm going to try using a more elastic yarn (like Classic Elite Fixation) because I tried to wear my top on vacation and it kinda stretched out too much over 1-2 hrs.

I'm looking forward to seeing your top! Mine is made out of Dreambaby D.K. It's probably not the best yarn for something like this..

Thanks! They were useful, I just wish I had the experience to have used them better, lol. I think it's a good idea to use a more elastic yarn too; this is nice and soft, but I don't think it would hold up after time.

I think it looks great!!  And I think the fit is fine too!  Even tho you said the nipple area is off, it still looks good!

You should be proud!

That's really, really cool! I need to make one for myself, and this looks like a pretty good way to do it.

maybe you could overlap them and sew them together in the front until they're in the right spot.
