have been quite unentertained these hols so decided to improve on my sewing skills.

the story behind this one is that i was waiting for my mother to pick me up from work one night and a girl walked past me with a red, strawberry-ish bag. i liked it sooooo..i decided to make one similar to it. easy as that!

(although i changed the look of it quite a bit.)

the handle and edging really is turquoise. weird camera.

close up of the handle. the rainbow and cloud is an iron-on applique. actually, thats not staying on very well. what do you guys think? i was thinking just plain old glue, but i dont want it to seep around the transfer and make it look yucky. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

that's the lining, which i realised after, is nice enough to be reversible but yeah. i dont think ill do that. *shrugs*

what do you guys think? i cut the fabric out freehand  Undecided and it seemed to work, funnily enough!

thats cute. i love the turquoise and the rainbow goes great with it! when i ironed on those appliques, they always fell off so i just sew them on.

I know that there's an applique glue available called "Patch Attach" that will adhere Girl Scout patches to the vests.  Something similar may be available at Joann's or a sewing store....that would work for you.
