Wondering if anyone would be interested in getting together in Twin Cities?  Maybe for a picnic or just a little round table meet-up somewhere?  It would be fun to get to know more crafty people and share resources.

Hi all!

I'm in Duluth but get to the cities quite a bit.  I'd definitely be interested in attending something, and will be in St. Paul off and on this summer.  My husband is doing some graduate work at Hamline.

Potluck sounds great!

We also come down for the State Fair.  Maybe we could organize a rendevous near the Seed Art in the Agriculture Building, or Fine Arts building?  Just an idea...

We are thinking of July 17, a picnic from 11 to 1 or 2. I am working on a location.
Put it on your calendar and stay tuned!

Hi, it is me again,
It turns out to be about $75 to reserve a shelter at Boom Island or similar park.  July 17 is also the Aquatennial.  So, to avoid major traffic, I selected my neighborhood park -
Brackett Park-
2728 39th Ave. S
Minneapolis, MN 55406
Phone: 612 370-4924
The park is about 3 blocks north of East Lake Street on 39th Ave. S.
The picnic tables are close to the red barn looking building.

The park has amenities, including picnic tables, restrooms, playground and wading pool.
If we say a picnic from 11 to 1 on July 17, and people can bring something to share (no grilling), lunch or brunch stuff.  We can do a show and tell, if anyone wants to.
Please let me know if you plan on coming, so far I heard from about 5 people.
In case of rain we can go over to my house.
I hope you can make it!

OK, so I have been wondering if we should do something crafty at this picnic, and I am thinking paper craft because it is quick and supplies are managable.  I will bring a couple "Wild Card" templates (this is an example) http://store.scrapbook.com/wowicaandent.html and glue and people can bring a few sheets of card stock, scrapbook paper, markers, sequins, whatever.  It is fun to stock up on cards, because I never seem to have time to make them when I need one.  What do you think?  It would be a pot luck on the supplies too!  Please join us!

i can't say that i think thats it's a good idea to do something crafty with paper in a park, well with the whole wind issue. How about something more heavy...like rock painting? ok i'm an ass. Wink I'm actuall not even sure that im gonna make it because I mught have to work! Angry ( Damn lazy ass coworkers.)
