Here's the tutorial for making simple fabric iPod cases! The measurements can be altered to fit just about anything... just make sure that the case is the right size for whatever you're making it for!

i know this is super old... but i just came back to this (which i bookmarked long ago) so i could make one.  the original i made came out beautifully, i added a loop and button closure and it still holds my creative mp3.  so thank you, the tutorial was wonderful and easy to follow!
