(this might be a dumb question, but...) whats a JK string?

Um...it's a word I decided to use because I didn't know what the string that goes through the sleeves of little kids' jacket and attaches to their mittens is called. I think it's been called an idiot string too. I used jk because I always see little junior kindergartners wearing the strings because they lose their mittens on a daily basis.

alright thanks! havent heard that term before (or junior kindergartener either... i assume thats what i know as preschooler). i call them idiot mitts personally, and i really need to invest in a pair
