There's a specialty yarn store in Lubbock called the Shaggy Sheep. It's on Slide right next to Hobby Lobby and across the street from Barnes and Noble right outside the loop. It's the only specialty store I know if in Lubbock, and they have some pretty stuff and nice people. I've only been in once because it's way too expensive for my budget since I'm trying to work my way through college.

My favorite yarn shop is The Bluebonnet Yarn Shoppe.  It's actually a bit north of Austin, in Cedar Park, but well worth a stop if you happen to be in the area.  The proprietress, Pat, is super friendly and helpful!
