So, among other things, for Christmas for my newlywed friends I'm making nice Christmas stockings out of satin and vevet and whatnot (with fun trim if I can afford it) and I'm lining them with old licensed character sheets (star wars and batman for the boys, cabbage patch and my little pony for the girls). I'm very excited about this. And then when my newlywed friends have kids, I can just make them another nice stocking for a baby gift. gift ideas that lend themselves to other gift ideas. So great, as long as the givee doesn't hate it and not tell you about it.

Sounds like alot of fun!    Here is a site for some inspiration: http://www.naughtysecretaryclub.com/barkclothstockings.htm

I'd love to see pics after you make yours.

Will you be my friend?

I keep trying to hint at people that I want them to make us stuff for their wedding gifts, but I don't think my friends are that crafty.

Ok, but on the topic, this is a great idea! I'll have to make some for myself!
