Resin + Christmas + random objects + me = cool gifts

This was my first time doing anything like this. I didnt make to many because I didnt know what I was doing.
Im pretty happy with the way they came out. But now I know what to do better next time.
I guess I forgot to menton the fact that necklaces. This is just a picture of them before the rings and necklace part were added.
The last one I some how messed up on the varnish and now it looks wrinkly. But I guess you get the point.

the oregano one is awesome! it might be cool to put different colored spices and stuff in there with it next time.

also I think it might go over well with hippies and such

LOVE your ideas!  I'm having a hard time finding a decent mold.  What did you use?  I've tried using ice cube trays, but my casting look like, well, ice. 

I also tried the small artist's pallets, but they're too "domed"....

The candy molds I've seen at Michaels and Jo Anne's have had a really dumb smiley face in them.

I love playing with resin.  It's magic stuff, huh?

Those look fantastic.  I like the oregano - I thought of casting tea-leaves last night, so it can't be that strange.  And peppercorns might just look neat!

Anyhow.  I've been asking this of every other resin crafter on earth.  1.)  How did you polish them so nicely?  and 2.)  What kind of 'varnish' did you use to finish?

I like the domed style of paint pallettes, so that's what I use.  *grin*

I have yet to try this but a lady who works with resin for living swears by rubbing it with brasso for the best polish. I don' even know if you can get brasso in America or even outside the uk.

I've got Brasso in my cupboard now (southeast USA). Bought it a while ago, but I've been using it for years.
