I'm so hooked on any fiber related craft lately. I made a few small pouches with spots. I've been keeping my felting needles in the little blue one. And the heart I made as part of this months felt a long.

Joyful and oh so happy.  It is sometimes hard for me to tell in the pictures.  Are those needle felted or wet felted.  They look soft and cuddly.

Needle felted. I have yet to try wet felting anything other than the soap, but I want to give it a try.

kate, did you felt the pouches around a form?  I want to try something like that, but I'm a bit afraid!

nope. I just laid out roving on a chunk of foam going both directions, a bunch running the long way and then a layer of short ones the other way. I hope that makes sense. I bought one of those needle holder tools. (can you tell I'm new at this) Mine holds 6 needles I think. I used that to start poking...a lot. when the fiber were starting to grab on to each other and it was becoming a little more stable and fabric like I flipped it over. Needles the other side for a while. Flipped again. Laid out the contrasting color dots. More poking. i folded up one side a little more than a third of the way. Then I switched to a single felting needle to make a "seam". I just needled the two edges together. I hope all that makes sense.

Graceo's tutorials on here are great. So far they have been my only felting curriculum. There really isn't much out there about needle felting is there?

I'm thinking of making a third one. I could take pics of the process as I go along if anyone would be interested in more info. I know I learn better visually. I'd probably not even read this whole post if I were the one asking the question.  Roll Eyes
