Here is a wonderful program that is in danger of shutting down if they do not find more volunteers. I read the following post a the Yahoo forum I'm part of and immediately thought of the talented crafters here and wanted to share the link in case any of you are interested:  http://www.teraleigh.com/memoryboxes/

Thanks and happy crafting!

Hi All!

Just a reminder that this time of year is particularly difficult for
hospitals. There are more losses during the winter months, and I
can't imagine how painful it must be to lose a child during the
holidays.

I know you are all very busy with your lives and the holidays, but
if you could even send out one box, it would help us.

I have a favor to ask. Marie and I are very worried about the
program. In order to continue it, we need more volunteers. The
nature of this program is that we have a small core group of
individuals who have painted many boxes, and then a few people who
paint one box, and then the bulk of our volunteers will paint 3 - 12
boxes and then quit.

This is not, in any way, a condemnation of that. We are grateful for
every box we get - no matter who does it for us. The issue it
creates for us, as administrators of the program, is that we
constantly need new volunteers to create boxes for us.

That means that our biggest challenge is to spread the word about
the program. So, my favor is - would you please tell some of your
friends / family about the program and encourage them to create a
box or boxes? If we do not come up with more volunteers this year, I
don't think the program will be able to continue into 2007.

I genuinely appreciate all that each of you do. Without you, there
would be no program. Please help us make 2006 our biggest success.
We hit a lull in 2005, and I take the blame for that. Because of my
own circumstances with moving and my divorce, I simply did not have
the time to put into the program that I have in the past. I am
back, and will will doing all that I can to get us more PR this year.
Any help you can give us would be great!

Sincerely,

Tera Leigh
