I created this book out of airmail envelopes for a mail-art ring, with the theme of faux postage stamps.

I'm encouraging the participants to write me letters on the paper I've tucked into the little envelopes.

My "stamps" are hand carved rubber stamps.  I was thinking about the animals that might bring a "special delivery."

Here is a picture of the un-assembled book.

Thanks for looking!

Those hand carved stamps are impressive and I love air mail envelopes! There's something so sophisticated, yet exotic about them.

What's nice about this, is that it isn't strictly a swap, but a postal ring.  We each create a stamp (or in my case, four stamps) and a log book, and send them out in the mail.  Then over the next few months, other packages with rubberstamps and little books will arrive in the mail.  I'll make a print of the person's stamp, and print my personal stamp in their logbook, and then mail it on to the next person in the ring.

The only downside to this is the occasional person who gets overwhelmed and doesn't mail out their packages.
