I am making a relaxation kit for someone, and I got to thinking that I could make a stressball, or buy a premade one and knit a litle cover for it, but Im not exactly sure how I would knit a round ball. Any suggestions? If you can think of a pattern please post. All I can think of is to cast on about 18, knit in the round an inch and start a decrease, but that would only make 1/2 of a ball.... sort of like a little hat. Your ideas are appriciated.

That sounds like a really great gift! Sorry I don't have any patterns to share, but I was thinking that you could knit two pieces in shapes like a baseball has and stitch them together. Sizing would be hard, but it might be easier than putting together 2 mini-hats. Please post what you end up with!

I dont know if I could do that without ripping open a baseball or a tennis ball to get the exact shape. Id feel bad destroying a useable ball. There has to be a better solution.

Here is a pattern for knitting a christmas ball ornament.  Maybe you can adopt this into the stress ball.

I had difficulty opening the link... but thanks! I knew there had to be a pattern out there!
Ohhhh, when I got it opened I saw that someone paid for the pattern. If you paid, thanks. That was really kind of you.
