Did you freehand the animals or did you have a pattern??

I just free handed everything. I drew out a rough copy of the page design on a piece of paper and then just cut out the animals from there.

Excellent, excellent job, Mama!  My DS' birthday is the 16, I think I will try to craft one of these for him before then.  Thank you for the inspiration.

Your book is beautiful! About four or so years ago, I made and sold and a shockingly similar style of book. Someone even commissioned a "Charlotte"! Weird coincidence! Mine was not as detailed (I didn't use buttons) but they were very expensive to produce. I used wool felt (which is considerably higher quality than craftstore stuff...it doesn't pill and wears beautifully...I recommend it if you make more.) However, the price is prohibitive when added with the time spent to create one...you'd have to charge, I think, at least $60 a book to even make minimum wage and cover basic expenses. I think the wool felt alone ran around $15 - $20 per book.

You're right, Plumpkin, the book lies nice and flat when the pages are opened. But when the book is closed, it looks kind of wedge-shaped. That's all I meant. But it seems like most people don't think that's a problem as far as marketing. Once again, the book is beautiful! Great job!

Wow, I love it.  I think it would make a fun wall hanging as well page-next-to-page.  I can see lots of different varieties of this and all of them selling!

Know why chicken coops have 2 doors?

If they had 4 doors they'd be chicken sedans.

one of my teachers has triplets, and i think these would be absolutely amazing to make for them. any chance of commissioning sketches, if you're not in the market to make these upon request?
