Thanks guys. I don't normally post things on here, so it's nice to recieve some positive feedback. I'm not a cape person either, but my sister loves to wear "unique" things. I don't even think she owns a pair of pants anymore, (just skirts) so this was right up her alley.

The pattern for the cape came from knit1 magazine (I believe it was the first issue). The pattern for the hat is this one http://bythehook.blogdrive.com/archive/110.html except that I used only one strand of yarn instead of two. It was really easy for a first crochet item. Just single and double crochet. And I just worked it up using some scaps of yarn from my stash. The fact that it matched so well is a total coincidence.  Cheesy


Here is a closeup of the buttons. I got them at Walmart of all places.  They had a whole collection of "vintage style" buttons.
