Nah, I don't think it'll look crap, unless you screw up in some massive way...*touches wood that you don't* unfortunately there's always the risk of crafting!

(Well, if you're like me, artually challenged, anyway, which I suspect most around here are not)

The shoes and cons are cute, although hard to see in your teeny lickle pictures.

and sorry about the small pictures..as you can kindof see i had to hold my camera wayyy up high so the flash wouldnt kill it & stuff, so i will maybe take some more pictures tomorrow instead so you can see the shoes better Tongue

I think it will look cute, especially with a hood.  It would be nice if you could pull that purple color into the shirt's design, like cut out an applique from that fabric and put it on the front of the shirt somewhere with some neat stitching.
