I got my wonderful purse from fyberduck. She covered it with a beautiful chinese fabric and added some trim and buttons. It looks beautiful and elegant now. I'll post pics as soon as I can- if you have some fyberduck you should go ahead.
Thanks so much, I now have another very elegant evening purse and I'm thrilled.

I'm so glad you like it  Cheesy

Unfortunately, Craftster's picture hosting officially hates me right now and won't upload the pix of your purse.  Arg.  It somehow liked the pic of the Czech Deco buttons I used:
But, not pix of the purse itself... too weird.  I posted the whole process on my blog, tho: http://fyberduck.blogspot.com/2006/01/i-dont-care-anymore-im-posting-purse.html

But, I did manage to get my purse up before it went all wacky on me.  Here's my awful, vinyl cover purse B4:

And here it is now - dubbed Fyber-fusion by bobolink:

and

She got rid of the offending vinyl, covered it with felt (yummy!) and made Japanese-themed silk buttons.  Ooh, and there's a matching little clutch (which conveniently fits all my knitting extras  Grin).  I love the stationary your letter is on - that is so cool, too.  I love that you preserved the outer pockets!  They will be full of needles and yarn by tmrw.  I get to show my new purse of at Guild tmrw, and make the other knitters green with envy.

Thank you again, bobolink!

Because I'm a show off and/or very proud.. here are some more pics of the purse I made. I knitted a half purse and felted it and then blocked it to the shape of the other.

And here it is hanging from its new felted strap, which I put through the original buckles.. and with some needles in the outer pocket (note the yarn stash explosion in the background)

Pictures of Fyberduck's gorgeous bag to come soon...

umm..im about to go home from work so i cant really sort through the pages and pages of replies on our original thread to find xbelovedxonex's before purse.
basically, i ripped out the zipper and snap button closure that made me cringe.
added the skulls, ribbon and lining.
and tada!

Here is the purse that I revamped for Cortag04!

The awesomely bad before picture in terrible lighting and unflattering surroundings:

It matches my ugly brown carpet, blech.

And the fantastic transformation picture with flattering light and pleasing surroundings:

and the new lining, WITH a zipper pocket: (sorry...that was a HUGE accomplishment for me!)

and the new improved handle:

and the matching credit card holder:

This was such a fun project!  Will there be a....round three?  hehehe.
