USPS website says they delivered Norsgoebel's purse earlier today.  I can't wait to hear what she thinks!!  I have "after" pictures, since my new digital camera changed its mind and decided to cooperate, after all.  And Nors posted a "before" in the other thread, so we'll be able to get both versions up for ya!

Here's my boring old nanny-bag before it went on vacation to Rackycoo's house (the top one):




WRITER78 - YOU WIN THE CIGAR!  I do believe that this little lady is Carmen Miranda (CM).......


Hand beaded applique for a bit of razzle-dazzle!

She removed the offensive handle and replaced it with a lovely red belt with cute little watermelon buttons. She also modified the original thrift store price tag to reflect it's new value. I may have to laminate that for a key chain.

Added a new lining, she must have hired elves to do this as the interior is mighty tiny. I'm not sure if you can see it in the pic, but one of the elves left a bitty little strawberry as a zipper pull.

Oh yes, those magnets say WTF?, which makes me giggle everytime I see it. You have a great memory, racky!! She also sent handmade soap, probably to wash my mouth out with after saying WTF?, a darling little board book and a sundae stamp that is too cute!

What a great revamp, and what great extra goodies!
I like how rackycoo themed it to match the straw material.  And I never noticed the, um, interesting "before" handle until you pointed out the change.  Now the "WTF" magnets make even more sense.
The revamped thrift store tag is hilarious.  I also think it's hilarious that you sent it with the tag still on it.

Yeah, I wasn't quite sure what message stifflersmom was sending when the bag showed up with the price tag still attached! I did feel, though, that taking that old handle off greatly increased the value, so the price had to be adjusted accordingly.

I did receive my bag back from Eva (writer78) last night.  She did an awesome job and I love it very much. She captured my personality perfectly and I will be using this purse quite often!  Here is the before picture


I fugured out the new computer and got the picture downloaded, here it is in all it's glory...she even made a cute coin purse with the same fabric as the straps. I didn't take a photo of the interior but it is black as well with two pockets in the same pretty green fabric.  Thanks Eva, I love it!

awesome beading rackycoo!  i instantly have visions of the chiquita banana lady and congo lines!  did you sew the beads to fabric and then onto felt and then glue it to the purse? or?  i know nothing about beading....but i think you have inspired me to learn!

 I have finally beaten cortag's purse into submission....it finally let me dye it a lovely blue color after much disagreement. now on to the new lining....
