That is fantastic! Is it yarn woven into the rafia? It looks snuggly!  Cheesy

Although bigmouth politely offered the bow, I had to decline.

We really don't know each other that well.

I still have the bow.  FEAR ME.

I did a single crochet through the raffia on the body of the purse.  I removed the strand with the colored "flags" (there must be a name for them, but I'm not up on my yarn lingo), and my new friend E-6000 helped me wrap the black yarn around the handle.

On another note, I received a box of amazingness from gingerquilts today, too!  How fun to receive from each other on the same day.  It's like a special purse holiday.  It's a Rosie the Riveter purse, and she incorporated both quilting and hardware (how's that for a combination that captures the essence of Rosie?).  I loooove it.  But I can't post photos yet, partly because I haven't slowed down long enough to take them.  I'll just have to string you along until later.   Grin

The chucks were getting smelly. After a quick wash I'll put them back on.  Grin

Looks like there is another E6000 convert, we'll slide over and make room for you!

I have no self-control.

Here's the purse I sent gingerquilts:

Here's the first thing I saw (other than the bag full of newspaper that said "nothing in here but stuffing!") when I opened the box:

That was a good, albeit rather frightening, hint.  Funny, too.  I'm still laughing.

Here's the fantastic purse:

Obviously, she quilts.  She's gingerquilts.  She does a really great job of it, as I can now attest.  She used the Rosie the Riveter theme in the details, too.  Handle, handle connection, & keychain thingy made with hardware:

It's so dark outside today, so I think I need to interpret a bit.  The dangling hook/keychain thing is made of beads, nuts, and washers.  So perfect for Rosie the Riveter!

Check this out.  Rosie's name--in rivets!

Oh, and this purse arrived all ready to go.  It's stuffed full of purse necessities:  pen, notepad, mints, lotion... I'm a little concerned, though, because I haven't found the cash yet.   Roll Eyes

Did I mention I've been asking for things (particularly a purse) with Rosie the Riveter almost from the moment I started swapping?  gingerquilts rulz!  (that's right, with a "z."  serious creativity and talent.)
Thank you so much!  I'm so delighted with "her"!

I love Rosie the bigmouth!

The rivets are a great addition. Nice purse, gingerquilts. You two were good partners!

My purse is sitting here with me at work in an envelope waiting for me to take it to the PO. MUST RESIST URGE TO ABSCOND WITH PURSE!!
It may be one of the things I'm proudest of creating! Just cause of how I had a vision and made it happen- and it's truly original- not from a pattern or anything...... MUST GIVE AWAY!!!!
