I saw this post months ago and have no idea why I didn't comment on it then.  Those are such cool pillows.  I love the colours, the pose of the cat everything and as a gift to so many people that is the best part!!!

to be more specific, i changed the image from rgb to light grey, grey, and black. 

Thanks so much for the halftone tip!  It all makes so much more sense! and I love your kitties... but I can't seem to figure out this step... I have an older version of photoshop, in the newer version to they have light grey, grey, and black in the modes section?  All I can figure out are grayscale and duotones!  Are you using a method seperate from the modes or is it just my old version holding me back?
