This dress is probably one of my favourite accomplishments. I designed and created it on my own, and just had to share it. I wore it to my school's annual Christmas Semi-Formal and everyone kept saying "Shut up! You DID NOT make that!". I hope you like it. PS - it's knit from ribbon in four different shades of blue/greens. I knit the top on US 15 needles and the bottom on US 50 (or something ridiculous like that, pretty much the largest ones i could find). Thanks!

That is so pretty.
It must have taken a lot of ribbon.

aww thanks! and yes, it took TONS of ribbon. the top alone took 120 m and about 200+m for the skirt. thankfully i found a place that sold ridiculously cheap ribbon.

This dress is amazing! Gosh you're really talented. I've just rediscovered knitting and I'm still at the 'safe' stage, i.e. using established patterns. I'm soooooooo impressed Alex. i'm not surprised you turned heads in it

It's beautiful. Tute? It looks reasonably simple, but I'd love to know if you followed a pattern or winged it. Also, is the ribbon stretchy at all? And how did you decide when to switch colors? It's so pretty!

Oh, my gosh! My jaw just hit the floor! That is the most beautiful dress. There has to be some sort of contest or something you could enter that in and totally win!

Wow!  That makes such an interesting unique fabric (in a totally awsome way!)  It reminds me of the ocean when the sun hits it. with lots of ripples, very multi dimensional!  I'm sure your were the bell of the ball!
