FInally  something i can do with my huge pile of magazines, usually i cut images from them for different projects but with the pages that "didn't make the cut" (tee-hee) I used them to make 3 bowls of my own (one super small, a medium, and a large bowl with a lid and "knob" handle I'll post pictures shortly ^_^

Here are my bowls:

(the two smaller bowls are still damp and not dry... that's why they appear so milky...)
I used modpodge as well, and I used a very strong 2-part epoxy to make the handle sturdy enough to be used. ^_^ these are such a wonderful use of the HUGE vogues my aunt gave me. (seriously those things are 800+ pages the issue i used boasts 832 pages in their September 2004 issue.)
Now what to put in the bowls... what to use them for.. hmmmm

WOW iampoison!  Those are really cool.  Would they be considered 'cannibowls' if you put clipped coupons inside them?  Smiley

Hey, the one with the lid is fab! Is it a smaller upturned base with a rolled up paper knob? (oops, dodgy description sorry!)

It sorta is, it's a bowl with the same width as the original bowl, but when you move the slat out to form the bowl you make it more shallow. It has to be the same width or greater or else it will fall in. The knob is made the same way you start a bowl. It's pretty easy ^_^ (but my fingers are a little raw from all the gluing and folding... )

cbass must have fingers of steel after making all those bowls...

iampoison, that lid is great!
You know, the other day I was at the thrift, staring at a shelf of candy dishes and asking myself if I needed one.  Clearly, now, the answer is yes: I need a covered candy dish made out of magazines, stat!  Grin
