Hi there,

I just got my very first apartment...

after buying furniture i'm totally broke for a while... a relative gave me a futon cover but it's an ugly, ugly light pink and green swirl color.  Would it be possible to simply dye it a solid black using fabric dye?  Any advice would be great!  Thanks a million.

i am just about to try the same thing on the cover to a couch that someone gave me, it seems like about the same colors too!  i am just going to bleach mine first, then dye it with dark red rit dye, i will let you know how it turns out.

If it is a thicker material try letting sit a little longer in the dye.  As someone stated before bleaching might be beneficial.
