I haven't met a craft I didn't like.....

My niece is 7 and just got a sewing machine for Christmas.  She wants me to teach her how to sew, so I'm now looking for some simple patterns for her to follow.

I'm making square pillows with her right now....but don't want her (and me) to get bored.

Can anyone point me towards some patterns or even recommend a book geared towards her general age group?  Heck even project suggestions would be great because I'm not the best at following instructions Smiley

Thanks!!

you could always teach her how to make simple purses or skirts, that's all i ever made when i first got my machine because they help get you used to the machine and they're kinda cool.

My 6yo Daughter loves the lizzie mgquire (sp?) patterns on
www.simplicity.com

just click on special collections and you will find them.  I am not sure they are really easy for her to do herself, but with help she could do it.  And the great thing is simplicity patterns go on sale alot for a dollar or two.
