I'm having problems.. I've been knitting baby hats but I want to do one with a little pixie point on the top.. something like this..

I get how to knit the body.. but I'm unsure of the math on the decreases??!!

On the usual baby hats I do (plain rounded tops)
I have 72 stiches then I decrease down like
K6, k2tog (repeat till row is finished)
K5, k2tog (repeat till row is finished)
ect down to
K2tog then tie off remaining stitches..

So.. I'm wondering what do I do for decreases so that it's a cute little point?
Anybody that can let me know is my favorite person in the world because my cute little pixie hat is sitting here just waiting for a point!

I made this pixie hat:
http://faraboverubies31.blogspot.com/2005/12/its-christmas-time.html
here's what I did (don't hold me to this it's from memory):

Once you get to where you want to start decreasing~

k3, k2tog* repeat to end
p to end of row (WS)
k3, k2tog* repeat to end
p to end of row (WS)
k2, k2tog* repeat to end
p to end of row (WS)
k1, k2tog* repeat to end
p to end of row (WS)
k1, k2tog* repeat to end
p to end of row (WS)
k2tog* repeat to end
break yarn and pass thru remaining stitches
seam up!

I prefer a less sharp point, so I break the yarn with 4-8 stitches left (depending on the yarn and size of hat)
