Does anyone remember these? They were kinda like charm bracelets except they were actually necklaces. Plastic chain in which you could hook all these little misc. charms onto it. I still have one of these "charms", A yellow clock & I thought I still had a chain for it.

Craftster.org mission

Craftster.org is a repository for hip, crafty, diy (do it yourself) projects.

Some time ago there was a folder here titled misc. non-craft related discussion, but it began to overtake actual craft discussion and was deleted.  Now it seems that both new and seasoned members are starting the trend all over again, this time using the misc craft-related discussion folder as their outlet.  I'm all for learning about the likes and interests of other members and I do enjoy discovering things that we have in common, however I use personal messages and/or e-mails to accomplish this.

I think that it might benefit all members to revisit the mission of craftster and remember what it is about this forum that makes it unique.

I do Not need to be scolded! I just came about the yellow clock trinket, remembered the popularity of these neclaces & wondered if anyone here rememered them (& probably their name). I figured that this area would most fit the topic (maybe I was wrong, it should have gong into trinkets). I just felt that it was something that I wanted to hear about form others.

I find this absolutly amazing. JASON- First of all, I can't believe anyone would be so flat out rude to another member. So much for the treat others as you would like to be treated rule. Even if she had done something terribly wrong, she did not earn the response you gave her. It was snide and uncalled for.

So her post isn't exactly a SPECIFIC question. I read in it her intent to use the item she had just come across in a reconstruct; she was asking if anyone else remembered them, most likely to see if anyone else had crafted them.

A little common courtesy goes a long way.

Hey Jason,
This is my count it, second post on this site. I look at it everyday but don't comment that often.
Honestly there are several different ways of looking at this post. When I first read the post my brain started kicking in with those 80's charm bracelets she talks about. I had one, I don't know if you knew anyone that did but they were super fun.
I view this website as super fun.
Furthermore the second thought that came into my head was "how could I make one?!".
So maybe she left out a very important question "does anyone know how they would go about making one of these?", and maybe you don't think the post was very craft-related, but it got my craft imagination going and I think that's important when reading posts.

i generally stay out of these types of discussion because i don't find that they are very useful, but i can understand jason's frustration.  it seems that more and more posts are just sort of random thoughts or memories that don't have very much that is productive in them.  very often in the past couple of days there have been pages of new entries and i find myself reading only a handful because the others don't really have anything to say.  still, i think the best thing to do is to not encourage further off-craft discussion by commenting further, so i'll hush up.

Thanks guys for the defense, although I somewhat see J/A/S/O/N's point of view (emphasis on somewhat). I just wasn't expecting that type of comment from him, let alone anybody so soon. I also see the earlier post on this "topic". I thought that this was just something new that haven't been talked about before.
