not sure if it shows you the first message if i update it, but I've added one more photo - this time of birds, though the sheep seem to be everybody's favorites!

Believe it or not, they are actually sheep!.  Some of the sheep have a little bit of a wool coat (not long enough of of high enough quality to be spun, unfortunately), but the herding instructors prefer hair sheep so they don't need shearing.  I guess in So California, nonwooly makes sense, but it would be nice to have that resource available.

The book is a japanese craft book - check earlier in the thread - I posted a link to online resources for japanese craft books.  I wound up getting mine at a japanese book store while travelling.

Your babies are amazing!   Shocked

In this book...are the instructions in Japanese?  I'd love to have these books but I don't think with my limited ability that I'd ever be able to decipher a pattern from them.  Embarrassed  I looked at your blog and I'm dying for the pattern for the blue sleeping kitty!

since I can't crochet well I am gonna take a stab at knitting the sheep.  I would think that it would be easy enough to do....
