This was the first knitting project I ever did - I made up the pattern as I went along and forgot to write it down....  Sad
but it took so long that I think it kinda put me off knitting!

Oh, wow, that's adorable! You made that up as you went along? That's just cool.

the funny thing is, I can't knit a scarf for the life of me! The edges ALWAYS roll. All I did for the teddy was think about what shape I would want each piece (I sew, so this was easy to figure out) and then I just added and dereased stitched until I had that shape... and then sewed them all together. The symbol on the tummy was easy, I just switched the yarn in and out

Egad, he's adorable! I love him and wish i could hug him. You should feel realy proud of yourself.  Please don't get turned off to knitting. Take a breather but find a little project to spark your inspiration again because knitting is a great PORTABLE hobby and is so versatile, and you obviously have the knack to do it.

I checked out the other things in your slideshow - they are awesome!  I love the kitty mittens and the monster purse.

Oh, and if your scarf is curly, just block it.  Lay it out flat on a towel and steam it with a steam iron (you just hold the  iron just above the scarf and let the steam come out).  I just did this for the first time last night on a curly scarf and it worked wonders - and only took like 5 or 10 minutes!

That bear is so cute. I have to tell you, I am blown away by your knitting savvy. It took me 12 years of knitting to go 3-D! Funny thing though is that I approach sewing like I'm knitting...I guess whatever works, right?!

Congrats!
