Your bag is great! My 15 year old son who is a huge LOTR fan knew what it was the minute he saw it and said "Cool, can you do that?" And I said maybe in 3 years or so....

Instead of a link, how about I just post the pic here?

Again - I cannot take credit for making this chart.  Flannigan made it for me.  Thanks again Flannigan!

And thanks everyone for the kind compliments!

did you get the felting instructions on knitty as well?  I have a deep, deep desire to make a felted bag, and yours is exactly the size/shape/construction I'm after . . . .

I was so excited and sad to see this post. I have been trying to make a similar bag for about 2 months now, I crochet, but I'm having problems with the tree. I modified the tree a bit, but basiclly it is the same. So I'm excited, because I see that it turns out beautifully, but saddened, the way you are when you get a great idea, but someone gets it out there a second before you do. You know what I mean? Smiley

Great job on that bag!

Ezri -  I totally know what you mean about being saddened.  The worst is when you get an awesome idea and then you see a cheap commercialized item based on your fantastic ideas in stores. I hate that.  But thanks for the compliement!

Nosyred - I just ran the bag through the washing mahine twice on a aHolt/Cold cycle set for a "heavy load" with the highest amount of agitation.  I put it in a pillowcase pinned shut and threw a pair of (black) jeans in as well for extra agitaion.  That's it.
