My husband asked for a bag for Christmas.  Specifically a black bag with the White Tree of Gondor on it.  It is very loosley based on Knitty's satchel pattern (for the small bag) but I changed tha guage, the numbers, the bottom construction, the strap, and the flap.... so basically I just used it as an inspiration.  The Tree chart was supplied by Flannigan (Thank YOU!!).  The yarn is Alafloss Lopi.  I used size US 10.5 circular needles.  Here are pics:

I still need to add a buckle to make the strap adjustable, and a snap to close the flap and keep it aligned properly, and sew some pockets on the inside.

Do you know how cool that is? I'm such an LotR fan, and that pic makes me sad because I don't have one!

You are one very talented person. I hope to be able to do that in a year or so. lol.

WOW!  The white tree is perhaps my favorite object in the whole series. That's a beautiful bag!
