(Posting a bit early as I'll be out of town for the Canada Day long weekend)

July's Blocks

Fabulous, fabulous applique.  This should be fun.

Grandmother's Fan Block
This is the first one.. a bit traditional, very pretty.

For our second block, we will use
Sea of Star's Applique Tutorial
to design our own blocks!  There are lots of wonderful examples of applique all over Craftster.. get inspired and design your own!  One of my favourites: Sesame Street meets the Muppets!

I am so glad you posted early. I have a long weekend this weekend and no internet at home, so was hoping to get these before I left work today. I love applique. Great choices crazy_bc_jen!

Homerof2 - I love the fabric in the middle of your third square.

I got that fabric from a swap I did with someone in Australia.

I have finally started to get caught up on this craftalong.  And again, once I have time for it, I rediscober my love of quilting (at least the piecing part of it.)  I am nearly finished with mata's star block, it ended up being about 12 inches, so I need to add a border.  I also finished the Wyoming Valley block.....this was honestly my least favorite block of them, but while I was looking through my fabric, I came across this FQ bundle I bought on clearance that seemed perfect for this block.  I am going to try to work on the birdhouses next, but I just don't seem to have the right fabric for it.

well i sorta fell behind in this craftalong, but now i finally have time to get back to quilting along  Smiley.  It's just been busy, i had finals in may, then started working right after and then started summer school, but now i've figured out my schedule enough to be able to craft again!  Cheesy

here's my night and day block that i did yesterday and hopefully i can get another block finished today

the blue fabric looks a lil bit washed out in the pic, i think there's more of the green in it

i'm not sure if i like that paper piecing.  i know i tore the fabric in at least one spot, but i think i should've used different paper

oooo   Shocked the polka dots are gorgeous!

Hmmm, I wonder.  If I made my blocks with a polka dot theme running through them, do you think it would be over kill?

Quenstalof-- I'm in love with your color wheel block!  A whole quilt of that would be very cool.  You have a great stash.

I love your Wyoming Valley block!!!!!

I have the last week of July off from my casual job and so that's when I plan to get my June and July blocks done.  I have the fabric picked out, I'm just too tired at the end of the day to sew.
