Hi everyone,

I'm headed off on vacation until the 22nd, and there is a good possibility I won't have internet access.  Good luck on your blocks... I can't wait to see them.  I'll be having a mad sewing spree after I get back.

Here are pics of my finished squares for this month.

Kids Prints:

I had some trouble making the holes for the birdhouses, but I think they look ok.

Traditional Prints:

I had ALOT of trouble with this block.  I kept getting off on the order that I needed to sew the material and I have several pieces that don't match anything.  I saw someone else post that she gave up on it after a few tries....I don't blame you.  These were really hard.   I was so thankful that I didn't have to do a whole quilt of them....It never would have been finished.

Your squares look great - I especially like the kids print star!

I'm the other one who had a hard time with this block - I've never given up on a square before but did with this one.

Homerof2, I LOVED the colors on your birdhouse block.  Smiley

Believe it or not, the kid print star was the one I did first and I had less trouble with it.  I only ended up with 1 section that didn't work in it.  On the other one, I tried and tried to lay it out and mark each paper piece as to which order the colors should go in.  Sewing on the paper was easy, but I kept getting off with the fabrics somehow.  I have 3 or 4 extra sections of it left.  I just threw them back in my fabric bucket.  I'll use them for something.

I'll chime in as having trouble with the star quilt square. I haven't given up yet, but have had to put it aside for awhile. I will try again later this week. CmeCraft, your star squares turned out beautiful.

Hi Guys!  I really haven't bailed on y'all.  I'm just moving across the country.  literally!  I've had to pack most of my sewing stuff and put my blocks on hold.  Maybe I'll get back in the swing for July.  In the mean time I'll covet from afar.  Wish me luck as I start a new in Washington State!

good luck!  And welcome to the Northwest...May I ask where in WA you will be relocating to?  Perhaps we might meet up and quilt together sometime?   Grin

I picked kind of random fabrics for this block.  Since the bird houses without the buttons look like arrows I think I'm going to leave mine this way.

Paper piecing is hard!!

Everyone's bird-house blocks (and star blocks!) look so great!  I haven't been able to get the templates to print for me Sad.  I'm going to try from a different computer, because I'd like to work on these blocks this weekend.  Anyone else have problems print from the website?

ctgirl, I didn't have problems printing them but maybe others did.

pibbgirl, I like the colors you used, especially the purple!
