CMeCraft, I love the pinks you used in the Friendly Hand block!

Quote from: CMeCraft
On the ribbon block, my husband suggested I put the darker color in the middle instead of the outside.  I went against my gut and listened to him.  I'm not totally crazy about it, but I think it came out ok.   He likes it way more than me.

I think it looks fine - makes the star stand out better.

Good job on them all!

Hi Crafterbynite,

We're working through piecing squares and (eventually) quilting together.. if you go to the second post in this thread, you will see all the squares we have pieced / are piecing so far.  If you click on them, they lead to very clear tutorial instructions on how to put them together.  At the end of the year, after we've amassed 12/24 blocks, we'll be adding borders, and then doing the actual quilting (or tying, or whatever).  Please feel free to join in!  (There is also a few comments within here already on different finishing methods (birthing, simple quilting) - just read back a few pages in the thread).

Greetings all!
Glad to see such great blocks for March.  I've made a whole quilt out of the ribbon block before so it's already a fav.  Everyone's blocks look great so far.  I'll post soon.

I am anxiously awaiting Aprils blocks as well.  And I totally fell of the wagon and have been buying fat quaters like crazy lately, so I have lots of new fabric to choice from.  So much for using this craft-along to use up my old scraps of fabric.

April's blocks are all picked and ready, and will be lots of fun.  Only a few more days!

Oh, crazy_bc_jen, that wasn't nice  Shocked

I saw in my bookmarks that you were the last person to post on this thread and wondered if maybe, just maybe, you were going to post early.

But, no, you were just messing with us!  Grin  I can't wait to see what you picked for April!

Okay, no more teasing... here they are!

April's Blocks

This month we're going to do something a little different... blocks based on tutorials from other Craftsters!

Star Block
A neat application of stack and slash.  It may take us some experimenting to figure out how to get ourselves nice, neat 12" blocks... but I think we're up to the challenge!  If not, we can always make smaller ones and add borders..

Scrappy Block
A neat, easy introduction to paper piecing (which will be the theme for an upcoming month) to produce a beautiful scrappy block.
