The first link isn't working for me. Is it just me?

There is a mistake in the address.  Here's the correct one:

Sweet Gum Leaf

thanks for all of the great comments on my blocks.  For as complicated as they look, they both go really fast!
I like the October selection.  My stuff should be to my house next week, so I'm looking forward to sewing again.  I've only got six months of blocks to catch up on!  I'll have to take a lesson from hommerof2 on kicking onself in the butt!

Well, I didn't make posting this before the end of the month but at least I had the satisfaction of knowing it was done by then.

I chose not to go with fall colors because, as I said last month, I needed more color in my quilt!

Now, on to tackle October's square.

I finished one October square (no, I'm not a super achiever, I just had a little time this morning while I was waiting for my pumpkin to bake).

I made the Sweet Gum Leaf and I will raise my hat to anyone who can make the stem like the directions tell you to!  I certainly couldn't.  You are supposed to start with a 1" piece, fold it in 1/2, sew it with a 1/4" seam and then turn it - good luck - I tried all sorts of ways and couldn't succeed in turning it so I did it my own way  Grin

I'll try to post pictures this week.

Okay, quicker than I thought, I can post pictures.  Hubby had to go back to the office tonight so I came along.

Yet another bright square and more green!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the print fabric - very swirly!

My thought on making the stem was to take a 1" piece of fabric and iron it in half, open it up, fold in the sides and iron those in, then fold it back in half again (like bias tape, just not on the bias).
